About the Authors
Jeremy Adelman has lived and worked in seven countries and on four continents. For nearly three decades, he was the Henry Charles Lea Professor of History and the director of the pedagogically innovative Global History Lab at Princeton University, which includes his renowned on-line History of the Modern World Since 1300 course taught to students around the world, including to students living in refugee camps in central and eastern Africa. He now has joined the faculty of University of Cambridge, which will also be the new home of the Global History Lab.
Elizabeth Pollard is Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence at San Diego State University, where she researches gender in the ancient Mediterranean world and teaches courses in world history, Roman history, and witchcraft. Pollard is also the founding co-director of the Center for Comics Studies and has served as the assessment coordinator for the Arts and Science Division. She has also served as consultant to the College Board.
