We heard from instructors that undergraduate and medical school immunology students need more support, and we listened: this gold-standard text is now optimized for modern students.
Clinical and health connections prepare students for future careers
We’ve included new research like the LEAP study on peanut allergies, COVID-19 vaccines, and new immunotherapies; Case Connections in each chapter have been expanded to relate immunology to health and disease; and updated clinical photos show signs and rashes on a range of skin tones.
More opportunities to build critical thinking and data interpretation skills
Updated End-of-Chapter questions allow more options for open-ended, critical thinking, and data interpretation practice, while Smartwork online homework makes it easier than ever to assign tailored practice for your students.
Peter Parham
Peter Parham (Stanford University) is a beloved expert in immunology research and education. Dr. Parham’s research has focused on proteins of the human immune system that vary greatly between individuals and populations. These differences, the consequence of natural selection, not only modulate the immune response to infection and cancer but also influence the success of reproduction and therapeutic transplantation of cells, tissues, and organs. He was elected fellow of the Royal Society in 2008.
