Features of the Third Edition
New emphasis on anthropogenic evolution
The Third Edition helps students see evolutionary biology as a contemporary science through current examples and research on anthropogenic impacts. These discussions highlight the exciting nature of the field today.
Beautiful illustration
and photo program
The authors analyzed every figure for clarity and simplicity, making our figures ideal learning tools for students. The art program features abundant phylogenetic trees, research-style data graphics, and clear representations of experimental design.
Questions to strengthen data literacy and critical thinking
This edition engages students in analyzing real research data. New “Experimentation and Data” questions throughout the text and end-of-chapter questions give students practice interpreting data and experimental processes to answer real-world evolutionary biology questions.
