Gillian Stewart, author of Oceanography: An Interdisciplinary Approach, learned from 20 years of teaching a diverse range of introductory oceanography students that the best way to sustain their attention throughout the course is by taking an interdisciplinary approach to the material. In this webinar, she will share actionable strategies on how you can successfully demonstrate connections between ocean geology, physics, chemistry, and biology to better help students understand how the ocean actually works. She'll share a bit about the "realms-based" approach that her new textbook takes, and how climate change coverage is integrated through it all.
