The Listening Guide has always been the core of every chapter, and now they have been redesigned to take advantage of the Norton Illumine Ebook platform, seamlessly moving students from reading to guided listening.
A tightly integrated reading and listening experience
The new Norton Illumine Ebook seamlessly weaves together reading and listening, engaging students with Check Your Understanding questions and “First, listen” interactive activities throughout each chapter and guiding them through each piece with embedded interactive Listening Guides.
A diverse and approachable repertory
of music
Enjoyment has always included music accessible to new listeners and teachable by any instructor. With the Fifth Edition, we have added four new chapters on world music, as well as new selections by women composers and composers of color.
