“From My Classroom to Norton Courseware: Interactives that Build Real-World Principles Skills”

Hosted by Carla Nietfeld on February 25th, 2026

Join Carla Nietfeld (Miami University) as she showcases the new interactives she has developed for Mateer and Coppock’s Principles of Economics 5th Edition and Mateer, Coppock, and O'Roark's Essentials of Economics, 3rd Edition. Reflecting her research on using more inclusive examples in the classroom, these low-stakes activities give students realistic, hands-on opportunities to make decisions, solve problems, and explore how economic choices affect communities on micro and macro levels.

You’ll get to see how these activities engage and motivate students to learn challenging concepts, and hear how Carla' integrates them into her course alongside InQuizitive adaptive learning tool and Smartwork online homework. Q&A will be welcomed throughout and at the end of the session.
