“Humanizing the Online Interpersonal Communication Course”

Hosted by Anthony Cuomo and Katie Bolger on April 13th, 2026

How does interpersonal communication change in a digital setting? How can you ensure the students in your online course are still learning and practicing the key principles of interpersonal communication?

Anthony Cuomo (West Los Angeles College; President of Western States Communication Association) will share his classroom-tested strategies for humanizing the online interpersonal communication course. He’ll discuss how he keeps his students engaged and brings active learning to the online course, ensuring students are getting every benefit of this important course, regardless of format.

The Norton Communication Team will also share how It’s Interpersonal and its accompanying resources engage students in an online course, including an overview of Inquizitive, Norton’s formative, adaptive learning tool; the Norton Illumine Ebook, with multiple choice questions authored by Anthony; and NortonAI, a new AI learning tool that boosts student understanding with personalized, self-directed practices and reading support.
