“Enhancing courses with new sources: Introducing Norton’s Primary and Secondary Source Collections”

Hosted by Alan Karras and Aaron Dilday on October 20th, 2026

Join Norton’s history editors for a tour of the enhanced Primary and Secondary Source Collections available with our survey titles.

• For American history, the collection includes hundreds of primary sources from early exploration and colonial America up to the 21st century, as well as twenty secondary sources drawn from our award-winning titles by Eric Foner, Annette Gordon-Reed, Steven Hahn, Deborah Gray White and more.

• For world history and western civilizations courses, the collection offers hundreds of extra primary sources, including visual sources from across the globe and new translations that are original to Norton.

We will be joined by Alan Karras (UC Berkeley), editor of the World History Collection, who will share insights for how to teach student critical thinking and historical synthesis with these alternate perspectives from the past.
